A Cozy Collections Coloring Book Inspired By Nostalgia, Keepsakes, and Collectible Treasures
From seashells collected during family beach trips to charms added to a bracelet over the years to matchbooks saved from favorite restaurants, almost anything can become a collection. Collections are made up of objects we hold onto because they carry memories, create nostalgia, or simply make us happy.
And although collecting often starts in childhood, it rarely stops there. In fact, it would probably be difficult to find someone who doesn’t collect something in adulthood – whether it’s magnets, cameras, plants, perfume bottles, or tiny keepsakes picked up throughout life.
That idea is what inspired my second published coloring book – a collections coloring book centered around the things we’ve gathered and loved over the years. Keepsakes & Collectibles: A Cozy & Relaxing Coloring Book captures the comforting, nostalgic feeling of surrounding ourselves with little things we love.
How Nostalgia Inspired The New Coloring Book
Little trinkets and keepsakes tell the stories of our lives, and that has always been true for me. Since I was young, I’ve collected shells from family trips to Cape Cod, colorful rocks from colorful souvenir shops, and quarters from the fifty states (I’m pretty sure I’m still missing Hawaii).
While chatting with friends one day about the random objects we all collected as kids, I realized how meaningful these collections really are. Some collections are sentimental, some are practical, and others are simply fun, but they all reflect each of our personalities and memories in some way.
The cozy, nostalgic feeling of collections pairs perfectly with the relaxing nature of coloring books for adults. I loved the idea of creating something comforting and stress-free while also celebrating the little objects people treasure throughout their lives. So I turned that idea into the theme of a collections coloring book filled with cozy illustrations inspired by keepsakes and collectible items.
From Hobbies to Collections
Before beginning this book, I spent time reflecting on the process of creating and publishing my first coloring book, Hobbies: A Cute & Simple Coloring Book of All Your Favorite Pastimes.
Since Hobbies was my first experience creating, compiling, and publishing a coloring book, it became both a creative project and a learning experience. While I’m incredibly proud of how it turned out, I also used it as an opportunity to understand what worked well and what I wanted to improve moving forward.
As I brainstormed ideas for a second coloring book, I realized hobbies and collections naturally overlap. Many hobbies involve collecting in some way, and I quickly discovered there were countless collectible themes that could inspire new illustrations. Some concepts carried over in new ways — like gardening becoming collections of plants or photography becoming collections of vintage cameras.
It was exciting to take familiar ideas and reinterpret them through a different lens. From there, I created 24 unique collection-themed pages for this collections coloring book, each centered around a different type of keepsake or collectible item.
One of my favorite things about this book is imagining readers flipping through the pages and finding something they personally connect with — maybe even a collection they’ve been building for years themselves.
A Collections Coloring Book with Matching Coloring Bookmarks
The collections theme doesn’t stop with the coloring book itself.
Since creating coloring materials, designing coloring bookmarks has become one of my favorite creative projects. Over the past few months, I’ve been selling coloring bookmarks on Etsy inspired by favorite books and shows, cozy themes, and reading trackers.
For the launch of Keepsakes & Collectibles, I wanted to create a matching set of coloring bookmarks inspired directly by pages from the book. Each bookmark coordinates with a collection featured inside the coloring book and is available separately on Etsy. To celebrate the launch, I’m also offering a limited-time Etsy bundle that includes a signed copy of the coloring book and three matching coloring bookmarks.
Creating coloring products has become such a rewarding experience because I know how relaxing and comforting coloring can be for both myself and others. I hope these bookmarks add a little extra joy to someone’s reading routine or relaxing creative time, especially for book lovers like me.

The response to my first coloring book has honestly meant so much to me. Seeing people connect with my artwork and use the book as an outlet to relax and get creative has been so encouraging.
